One of my favorite things about this work is the opportunity to live into my values every day, with decision-making power as a business owner, creative direction as a jeweler, and the chance to give back, especially now that we’re established as a healthy little company.
While in the past my work led me to couches inside homes engulfed in poverty, to courtrooms where custody was settled after an abuser was stopped, or food banks that get families through to the first of the month, this work has invited me to support similar causes but in a different way, like by donating to galas and fundraisers so non-profits and NGOs can raise money for the work they're doing.
I've learned there is activism in the ordinary work of care and connection, like when you drop a couple sandwiches off for your neighbors as they navigate a new cancer diagnosis. Or donating a few bucks to a GoFundMe that could really help a family stay on their feet. Or being a vessel for someone to tell the truth, wholly and honestly, knowing that you’ll hold it without judgement.
We believe deeply in the quiet power of generosity, because we see you rise to the occasion with generous gifting of lockets to your own people, even in the face of your own challenging experiences. This inspires us to keep carying forward your generosity, using our work as a pass through.
Right now, the Locket Sisters gives back by planting one tree for every locket we make, and donating gift certicates to thelocketsisters.com for fundraising efforts.
We believe in the ripple effect of kindness, love made visible, and taking action toward the world we'd love to see for everyone.
