A few years ago I made four lockets for a bereaved mother and three of her friends. Each one was a surprise - even the one for her (which I added because it was so generous that she was giving to her friends without even getting one for herself to keep her beloved son, Will, close to her heart, too).
While I was making the lockets I had this visceral urge to sit by our windows and pray, to meditate. I'd never had an urge like that before, to stop what I was doing and sit to feel something inside me. I had a vision in my head of the kids playing together, so joyfully, in a field. There were other kids there too, and just so so so much Light and Love. Happiness, joy. They were in physical human form, the older ones carrying the younger ones. I felt this in my being, in my soul, in my body. I let it pass through, and I carried on making the lockets.
A few weeks later I was able to connect on Instagram with the Moms who received these gifts from my generous customer, and I realized that one of them lives in country alongside the fields I could see in my meditation the day I made her daughter's locket.
I've experienced similar energies around me when making lockets. We make so many for grieving hearts, for people who are living here on Earth while someone they love so dearly had to go. Occasionally, if the experience is palpable, I'll even write to the person we're making the locket for and ask some questions about the person in the photograph they want placed inside. I love knowing their name, what they were like, what their personality brought to this world. Knowing details like this helps us feel connected to you, and them, while we make such a personal keepsake for you.
The studio where we make your lockets is also an important part of the energy we pour into your locket. We keep this space happy, open, spacious, vibrant, and full of light. It's a feel-good space, one that we look forward to coming to each day, one that feels like our toes don't have to think twice about grounding into the Earth when here. It's comforting and inspiring and beautiful.
We hold gratitude for every order that comes in, we don't place positive or negative values on the stories of each locket, we love them all. We love your story if it's sad, happy, memorable, milestone, adventurous, private, joyous, full of despair - we respect that we get to be a part of it at all. We welcome every energy and emotion that comes long with it.
It's an honor.
Warmly,
Allyssa
