"I became a Mother the same year that I lost my Mother as I knew her to a devastating stroke. My father had passed away years prior and he had always told me that a parent’s love for their children was indescribable until you experience it yourself. Overnight, the minute I gave birth to each of my 2 daughters, I felt that indescribable love as well as the weight of no longer having my own parents.
These photos are my everything - my Dad and I skiing, my Mom and I at our cottage, my two daughters, and my amazing wife and I as Mothers to our two girls.
My mother had her stroke on Valentine’s Day, a day that will now always be bittersweet. This year this locket was a Valentine’s Day gift from me to me - to remember the parents I was lucky enough to have, and the Mother I hope to be."
