I was live on the local CBS News Morning Show here in Minneapolis this moring, and here’s what else I wish I could have told you if I’d had more time:
In early March our studio space was heavily robbed by two men at night. This is the reason I made the decision to not be open (except by appointment) during Art-a-Whirl this weekend. I feel protective of our space, our work, our energy – so I drew a line around us for a while.

Of the many things they stole, all of our brand new locket designs were gone in an instant. Just this week we finally put them back into “Pre-Order” and they’ll likely be personalized with your photographs and ready to be shipped your way at the end of May. Finally! Hallelujah!
Those lockets that we just launched were designed while I was in Thailand visiting our manufacturers, with my 13 yr old son, in October 2025. That trip was formative for me as a woman, and these new lockets feel like an empowered choice, so I love seeing them come to life. They just feel special to me.
I took that trip to Asia because we got smoked with tariffs in April 2025 because we manufacture abroad and import our lockets (most of them, anyway), allowing us to design, and then focus on the part we’re really good at: the photo and resin work. The 600+% tax increase made me reflect on how my business is set up, and whether or not it was sustainable, ethical and wise.
From reflecting on what was best for the Locket Sisters’ longevity, I booked that trip to personally touch each step along the way. It was wonderful. So I leaned into what we do here, and how we do it, and invested in the Locket Sisters.
What I’ve learned about adversity is that you cannot avoid it. It is part of being alive. I’ve noticed that I’ve started to meet it with curiosity, wondering where it’s about to lead me next. Wondering how one experience will alter another, and another and another, until the multiverse divinely leads me wherever I need to go next.
I would have told you that the Rainbow Locket is a celebration of joy after hardship, light after storms, and the people who help carry us through both. Designed to hold your most meaningful photos, it’s a reminder that love has a way of finding us again and again, often when we need it most.

Or how the new red heart is called The Courageous Heart Locket and is made for the people who love deeply, leap anyway, and lead with love despite everything in this world inviting us do otherwise. And how the green one is The Grounded Heart Locket, because it inspires steadiness and restoration – and the numerous grounding elements that care for our wellbeing. Or how the blue one is The North Star Locket finding your way back to yourself over, and over, and over again, like a star you can look for in the dark.

So if I had more time, I would have told you more about how our new locket designs are actually rooted in trust and beauty and resiliency, because of the seeds that planted them along the way. And most importantly – I’d have told you how they’re gonna hold your stories so well.
Warmly,
Allyssa
