At The Locket Sisters, we know that being part of something bigger is important to you. That's why we are proud to partner with One Tree Planted, an organization dedicated to environmental conservation and restoration around the world. By purchasing a locket from us, you're not just getting a beautiful piece of jewelry - you're also contributing to a greater cause.
Through One Tree Planted, we are able to make a positive impact in areas like Malawi, where reforestation efforts are crucial for sustainable development. In fact, this past August, we were able to plant 122 trees in Malawi thanks to your support. You can see all of the places we have been able to plant trees here.
Malawi is a beautiful country in Africa that is facing many challenges in balancing the needs of its people and nature. With 96% of its population depending on forests for their livelihoods and a growing demand for agricultural land, deforestation is a pressing issue. However, the government of Malawi is taking important steps to combat this by investing in long-term natural resource management solutions. Did you know that one-fifth of the country is covered by Lake Malawi which is home to more species of fish than any other lake in the world, including about 1,000 species of cichlids? AND, Malawi consists of an abundance of wildlife including antelopes, buffalo, elephants, leopards, lions, rhinoceroses, and zebras. By planting trees across Malawi, we will make a huge impact by not only restoring forests and all the benefits they bring to wildlife, watersheds, climate stability and more, but doing so in combination with sustainable development.
We are honored to work with One Tree Planted and are excited to see where our partnership will take us in the future. As we head into fall and start thinking about Christmas orders, consider making a difference by ordering a locket for yourself or a loved one. For every locket sold, we will plant a tree in September - just another way we can work together to create a better world.
