Finally, one of our most beloved locket designs – The Evelyn – is back. And I want to tell you all about the name behind this locket, and I want to tell you about why it was gone for so long.
But what I'm going to tell you about instead is the sound of making your lockets. The hum of shipping labels being printed and lofi jazz on the speakers and the occasional Mmmmmmmmm and Ooooooooof and oh my goodness this is sweet from both Mandy and I as we read you stories and embrace your photographs.
The sound of the triple beep on the timer which alerts us to stop mixing the resin, and the sound of the press coming down to perfectly cut your photographs. The microwave warming up our soups, or my husband's team working at the big table in the back. The tig welder connecting metals to become whole. The dogs wrestling, the stools wheeling around the locket area. Little bins opening and closing as we grab new lockets for new orders. The water-based tape being pulled, dampened, and ripped before it's final seal on the boxes in their final steps as they begin their journey your way.
And a lot of peace and quiet, too, which is undoubtedly one of my favorite things about this space, about this work. Making your lockets is calming on the nervous system, especially in this sunny space with the rhythm we've crafted that moves between connection with one another and connection with one's self.
So while I came here to tell you that The Evelyn Lockets in gold and silver are back, what I felt like sharing with you is that the sound of making lockets is beautiful, and lucky for us, we're listening to it more than usual this time of year.
Order by December 14th for Christmas delivery in the US, December 4th for Canada.
Thank you for being here.
Warmly,
Allyssa
