The Evvie Locket is the little sister to the Evelyn Locket, both of which come in gold vermeil and sterling silver. And while I know a thing or two about being a little sister, this one about my maternal grandmother, Evelyn, as Evvie was her nickname. I never knew my maternal grandmother as Evvie, or even Evelyn for that matter. But I love to think of her as a young girl, a young woman, a sovereign human in general, because I knew her as a mother to ten and a grandmother to 35 and a great grandmother to even more. The Evvie Locket feels like a prequel, like the woman within that can get lost in all of the roles and relations we play to others. I wonder if Evvie had hobbies, what brought her joy, what her friendships were like. What inspired her? What scared her? Who was Evvie before she became Evelyn and before she was my grandmother?
